It’s possible that at some point in life, you would like to reverse the decision that led to your permanent tattoo. At Metamorphosis clinic, we offer an effective solution. Laser tattoo removal is a non-invasive treatment option that can safely remove permanent tattoos from any part of the body.
Our advanced Q-switched lasers work by shattering the pigment particles deep within the skin, allowing your own immune system to then scavenge and remove that pigment. Consequently as the tattoo fades in layers, multiple sessions are required for optimum results. At least 4-6 sessions are recommended, for all but the simplest of tattoos.
With the overwhelming popularity of tattoos over the last ten years, the market for effective tattoo removal has exploded.
Injecting colored pigment into small deep holes made in the skin creates tattoos. Regardless of whether a tattoo artist or an untrained individual injects the pigment, the marks or designs are relatively permanent. When people subsequently want their tattoos removed, most physicians today consider laser surgery one of the best methods.
The Q-switched Nd:
YAG is the most frequently used laser for tattoo removal.
During treatment, pulses of light from the laser are directed onto the tattoo, breaking up the tattoo pigment. Over the next several weeks the body’s cells remove the ink of the tattoo from the skin. With the Q switched Nd:YAG laser available you can effectively treat dark tattoo inks, specifically black (which accounts for more than half of all tattoos), blue and green. Patients should expect to come back for several treatments to achieve expected results.
Technology In Use:
Tattoo ink and natural pigmentation like melanin absorb short pulse duration/high peak energy Q-switched pulses so quickly that they create a photo-acoustic effect within the pigment clusters. This effect breaks down the ink into much smaller particles that can be more easily removed by the body’s natural filtering system.
Dark colors: like black, blue and green with 1064-nm wavelength
Brighter colors: like red, orange and yellow with 532-nm wavelength.
WILL LASER TREATMENT HURT?
It feels like an elastic band been twanged against the skin! So whilst not painless, it’s quicker than getting a new tattoo, and the discomfort is probably no more than you experienced when you got the tattoo initially. Discomfort can be reduced by applying anaesthetic cream beforehand and icepacks during treatment.
IS LASER TATTOO REMOVAL SAFE?
Yes! During laser tattoo removal the laser operates in short, fraction of a second bursts, targeted only at your tattoo. It does not affect surrounding skin.
WILL LASER TATTOO REMOVAL SCAR ME?
No! Laser tattoo removal should not scar you. Instead of forcing ink out through the skin, it breaks it down soh your immune system can attack and pull it out through your lymphatic system.
WILL LASER TATTOO REMOVAL BURN ME?
No! We use only the latest most advanced lasers that are much gentler and pass freely through skin without burning. We do not use older type lasers that can burn skin.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
Several treatments may be needed before the tattoo fades enough to no longer be seen. The number of sessions is dependent on the tattoo complexity, ink type, colours used, tattoo depth, tattoo age and skin colour of the client.
5-15 laser tattoo removal sessions may be required before the tattoo fades entirely. Session times vary dependent upon the size and complexity of the tattoo and patient sensitivity.
CAN YOU REMOVE A MULTI-COLOURED TATTOO?
Most colours can be removed with laser tattoo removal. Black, dark blue and red tattoos respond really well to laser removal. More difficult tattoo colours to remove are white, yellow, purple and pink, but are easier to cover up. Green is probably the most difficult tattoo colour to remove. Laser Treatments uses an advanced laser that is good for most colours giving you the best results possible.
WHAT IS THE COST OF TREATMENT?
